Jrock for the masses

Hello lovers, any of you listen to Japanese music? No? Well too bad, I’m going to post this anyway.

Jrock Revolution and JaME are forming an alliance. JaME is a popular source worldwide for Japanese music news. Their network has several sites in which they post news in different languages.  This gives them a very large reach.

Jrock Revolution promotes Japanese rock in the U.S and beyond. They work (indirectly?) under Yoshiki - who is a big name Jrocker.

And now JRR and JaME are going to combine their resources to further help support the Japanese music scene.

I think this is great because they are both great websites. With them working together I think it will be a lot easier for them to share information worldwide with fans from various languages. I really hope this helps give Japanese music a boost.

Look ma, I’m famous

So, all the writers are on strike. You’ve got nothing to watch except American Idol and reruns of shows you hate. Joy.

Bring in the internet stars!

Who cares about celebrity custody battles and wannabe popstars?

We want real people! Forget those flashy, overpaid actors and bring in some people you can relate to.

Anyone can be an internet star these days and YawpBox is there to help make it happen. Get off your couch, throw down the remote, and pull out that old video camera your grandma gave you 5 years ago.

We all know that deep down you’re a rockstar with wild hair and too-tight pants. It’s about time you got the stardom you deserve.

With YawpBox you can share all those videos of you rocking out in your mom’s basement, or - if you’re just chillin with your fangirls - you can watch other people rock out.

And if you’re as awesome of a rockstar that you think you are, then you might even make it to YawpBoxTV - which will be viewed by a lot of people (or so they say).

Unlike all those fancy-pants celebrities YawpBox users are normal everyday people like you. They have normal everyday paychecks and have normal everyday secret rockstar fantasies just like you.

And they probably answer their fanmail.

I went through a couple videos with my sister and came across a wedding video that shows how rockstar these people are. Forget sappy first dances, show your guests you know how to move!

And for you non-rockstars that don’t know what to make videos of, you can always do the Lex & Terry challenge. They announce a nationwide challenge for users to create specific content.

So pick up your guitar and get rockin’!

(And um.. I’m not one of those people with secret rockstar fantasies. Nope. Not me…)

Nice Parking

Last week, while I was visiting a different campus to take a final, I snapped two pictures of some…interesting parkers.

I hate to say it, but the entire parking lot looked like this. It was my second time visiting this campus, and I’m still surprised at all the bad parking.

That car right behind the truck, is parked there. That is not a parking spot, they just decided to make it one. And in the process, they blocked a few people from being able to back out.

I don’t know who taught these people how to park, but I’m glad I don’t go to school on that campus.

Secondhand smoke is bad for your pets too

Everyone always hears about how secondhand smokers are suffering due to smokers, but no one really stops to think about their pets.

I didn’t think about it either until I read this article about secondhand smoke causing cancer in pets. Seems smoking is bad for everyone.

Both my parents smoke, however they only smoke outside.  Thankfully, this helps limit how much smoke I inhale. Our cats though, enjoy lounging around on the back porch - where my parents smoke. Meaning they’re inhaling all that secondhand smoke.

Unfortunately I never thought about the fact that animals get cancer too.

Just adds one for reason for people to not smoke. Thankfully I never have and never will.

Are you a smoker? How do you feel about smokers?

Cool things happen while I’m sleeping.

Unfortunately, I missed the lunar eclipse - like I always seem to do.

Suntimes has some pictures for those of you who also missed it.

However, did anyone manage to see it? Got any pictures to share?

I swear, one day I’m going to stay up late enough to watch these things - I miss them every time they happen.

In other news, online classes suck.

Watch your step

The weekend is hear and school is just around the corner (Monday) - and I must say, the end of my summer ended with a bit of drama.

My mother and I were at my school buying my books, and as we were walking towards the other building my mom stepped off the curb (by the sewer thingie) and fell.

She hurt her foot pretty bad - can’t walk on it, and had a small gash on the side of her foot. Once we got home I cleaned the gash with peroxide and when my dad got home we took her to the hospital.

It’s not broken, she just sprained her foot pretty badly, maybe tore the ligament.

She is now relaxing watching tv while the rest of us wait on her hand and foot.  I hope she recovers quickly because the house is a little chaotic without her help.

But most of you (read: none of you) care about my mom, so whatever.

For those of you who are competing against me on the last post wins site: Good luck! (that money is mine!)
