Unfortunately, in some parts of the world people are starving. Fortunately, you can help.
FreeRice lets you play a word game and everytime you get a word correct they donate 20 grains of rice. And it doesn’t cost you any money at all, just play their little game.
The rice is paid for with money from the advertisements, which are along the bottom of the page.
Anyway, it’s an easy way to help out others without too much effort on your part. Just match up some words and you’re good to go.

This is a great project! I wish more people would write about it. I had seen the logos around for it. After a while I decided to see what the scam was. Surprise! No strings or any requirements from you the user. So rare.
After a couple of weeks I opened my local paper to see that the guy who started this, John Breen, is from IU. The college campus in Bloomington, IN. That’s where I was born, raised, and currently live. It makes me proud.
Yeah, I’m always wary when I come across things like this because I figure it would be very easy for someone to set up some fake charity and make money off of it. But thankfully this seems legit~
I love the rice site, too. I also like to go by and click on the breast cancer site (http://www.thebreastcancersite.com) to donate and today I found a survey where they’ll donate $1500 to the cause of the voters’ choice once they get 1500 women to complete the survey (http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.aspx?sm=X_2bceYAXUgGi0CgzTP1Zydw_3d_3d).
I agree that things like these are easy ways to help out others without too much effort at all.
Yes! The breast cancer site, I’ve been there to click quite a few times. Along with the other sites they have - rain forest, animals rescue, etc.
When it comes to things like this people can’t make up some excuse that they don’t have the money because it doesn’t require any. I also find it highly unlikely that someone doesn’t have 5 seconds to spare to click a button. So really, I think everyone should try to help out at least once.
And sorry about your comment being marked for moderation. The links triggered it as possible spam so I had to approve it.
