If you were wealthy…

So, my mom was talking to me the other day and told me some TV show had mentioned some website called wealthymen.com

Which is basically a dating site for women to find guys with money.

Now, I’m not the kind of girl to date for money - but it got me thinking about what it would be like to be rich. Obviously, my lifestyle would change, I would be able to buy more things and live anywhere I wanted.

So, if you were wealthy where would you live and why?

If I was going to stick to my original plan, I would still go to Japan and live in some super nice highrise apartment. Or, if I wanted, I would buy my own house in one of the wealthy neighborhoods.

My second option would be to live somewhere in the Caribbeans. Whichever island is safe but still touristy so I would have many things to do (Cayman islands?).

It would be nice to own a big, open estate on the beach.  Lots of windows to let all the light in, high ceilings, nice pool overlooking the beach. It would be a pretty nice life.

Also, would you continue to work - why or why not?

Depending on how much money I had - I probably wouldn’t work most of the time. I wouldn’t mind flipping homes or renting out apartments, but I wouldn’t want a full time job.

But with real estate investments I could work when I wanted to and earn “back up” money just in case anything ever happens.

And I would be paranoid about spending all the money, so I would want to invest every now and then to make sure I wouldn’t ever run out.

So what about you?

Window shopping…sort of

I’m not a big time shopper but being the girly I am, my shopping mode hits me sometimes.

Unfortunately, my fashion interests are more towards the alternative/japanesey-punky-Harajuku type fashion. So I can really only do online ‘window shopping’ - since most of the stores don’t ship overseas OR I don’t have the money.

Anyway, the shopping bug hit me again and so I’ve been looking around for what’s out there. And since I have nothing else to do, I’ll share with you.

Gothic lolita EGL NANA mini TARTAN Frilly CAKE SKIRT  - From Refuse to be Usual. She does ship worldwide but I currently don’t have the money to buy anything.

Anyway, I usually don’t like ‘frilly’ but I actually like that skirt. ^^

Putumayo dress - I love putumayo, not all their clothes but they do have some cute stuff. I wish I had the money to buy that dress because I totally would (if they shopped internationally). Black n pink plz.

Putumayo Skirt - black n blue or pink n blue. I think the skirt could be part of a fun, casual type outfit.

Punk Halter -  Not too flashy, easy to wear. It looks like something you can wear any day with something simple - like a pair of jeans.

Rock Punk Top - I like this top - except for the cuss words. I don’t really cuss and I would be afraid to wear it out to everyday places, like the mall, because of young kids being around.

Punky Button Down shirt - I just think it’s cute - except the collar. I’m not big on shirt collars, they make me feel like I’m choking.

And more, but that’s enough for now.

One day I’ll have the money to actually buy some of these things. For now I’m just stuck with window shopping.

Finally something that’s pretty accurate

Have you ever been in an arguement with someone only to wish that you had statistics/an article/scientific proof to back up your side?

I have. In fact, several months ago I got in quite a few arguments with an online friend about how I behave.

Now, I am an introvert. He was an extrovert. Very much a people person, being with people made him happy, like they were his hobby. He thrived on people.

Now, we didn’t know each other in real life - only online. That means all our communication depended on us both being online at the same time. We only talked through MSN - never email.

Because I’m an introvert, I would sometimes be online for hours and hours without logging into MSN. Not because I was ignoring him or anything, but just because I just didn’t want to chat. I just wanted to sit, relax, surf around, listen to music - enjoy my own time.

This caused many fights between us. He would sit waiting and waiting for me to log on to talk with him. He just couldn’t understand why I would be online but not on MSN.

He figured that if I liked him then I would log on to talk to him all the time. That when I wasn’t feeling well I would talk to him. That when I was bored I would talk to him. That I would go out of my way to talk to him - if I really liked him, that is.

But because I didn’t do that, he would sometimes think that I didn’t care about him. But nono, that’s not the case. I did care! I just need time to myself!

I need it. Like I need oxygen. I don’t like sitting and talking to people all the time. It gets tiring. After awhile it gets to the point where I’m agitated and exhausted and just waiting for it to get late enough for me to claim I’m going to bed - without someone getting mad.

I don’t understand how some people can just talk all the time.

And no matter how many times I tried to explain it to him - it was still always an issue. He just didn’t seem to get it.

Now you must be asking: What does this have to do with your original question?

Well, I found a well written and pretty accurate article about introverts and how we are (written by an introvert). After reading it I desperately wish I had found it before - so I could have made him read it. Maybe make him understand.

I’m not a stuck up, antisocial, I-hate-you type of girl! I’m not quiet because I’m trying to be rude or ignore you.

Who knows, it could have saved us from a few hours of fighting.

Now, I’ll stop being so self-centered by talking only about myself. Are you an introvert or extrovert? How well do you get along with/understand the other?

Do tell your stories.

Things I hate about the internet

The world is full of things that get on our nerves - even our beloved internet has some of these things. Some might be a minor annoyance while others make you want to slit your wrists.

In a fit of minor boredom, I share with you a small list of some things I hate about/on the internet.

  • Myspace and facebook
  • StIcKy CaPs  - hard to read
  • TYPING IN ALL CAPS - hard to read
  • Grammar/spelling police in the middle of a flame war
  • Spam
  • “PM for details”  - just post the damn info!
  • Pagination on news articles. I want to read it all on one page, not 3.
  • People who don’t seem to understand basic things about the internet, so they email/PM you all the time. (how do I post an image????)
  • People who refuse to use the search function/read threads. Instead, they’ll post a question, even if the answer is two threads down.
  • People who keep asking “when is Pr update?????” on DP forums, even though people have said a million times that no one knows
  • People who refuse to at least try to spell somewhat correctly. Speeling iz 4 l0zerz.
  • Google’s dominance over everything.

And more, of course. But what are some things about/on the internet that annoy you?

Secondhand smoke is bad for your pets too

Everyone always hears about how secondhand smokers are suffering due to smokers, but no one really stops to think about their pets.

I didn’t think about it either until I read this article about secondhand smoke causing cancer in pets. Seems smoking is bad for everyone.

Both my parents smoke, however they only smoke outside.  Thankfully, this helps limit how much smoke I inhale. Our cats though, enjoy lounging around on the back porch - where my parents smoke. Meaning they’re inhaling all that secondhand smoke.

Unfortunately I never thought about the fact that animals get cancer too.

Just adds one for reason for people to not smoke. Thankfully I never have and never will.

Are you a smoker? How do you feel about smokers?
