Cool things happen while I’m sleeping.

Unfortunately, I missed the lunar eclipse - like I always seem to do.

Suntimes has some pictures for those of you who also missed it.

However, did anyone manage to see it? Got any pictures to share?

I swear, one day I’m going to stay up late enough to watch these things - I miss them every time they happen.

In other news, online classes suck.

Attack of the spambots

Spam these days is, unfortunately, everywhere. I get tons of spam emails everyday, which I quickly delete without even reading.

But bloggers also have to deal with spambots hitting their comment pages.

About a week ago, I was happy to note that I didn’t get any spam posts for several days. But then after my last update I was suddenly bombarded with spam. I’ve gotten about 80 spam comments since my last post.

Though, for the entire life of my blog, Akismet says that I’ve only had 260 spam comments. Only 260… 260 anything would sound like a big number, but when it comes to spam 260 is pretty small. I’m sure other blogs get thousands.

I’m guessing this sudden spambot attack is due to the fact that I got my blog list for having the top commentators plugin (which jamaipanese so cleverly managed to get onto twice).  The plugin is to benefit commentors, and I guess the spambots want a piece of the action too.

But I’m curious as to how lucky - or unlucky - I am with spam compared to other blogs. How many spam comments do you manage to get/block?

Watch your step

The weekend is hear and school is just around the corner (Monday) - and I must say, the end of my summer ended with a bit of drama.

My mother and I were at my school buying my books, and as we were walking towards the other building my mom stepped off the curb (by the sewer thingie) and fell.

She hurt her foot pretty bad - can’t walk on it, and had a small gash on the side of her foot. Once we got home I cleaned the gash with peroxide and when my dad got home we took her to the hospital.

It’s not broken, she just sprained her foot pretty badly, maybe tore the ligament.

She is now relaxing watching tv while the rest of us wait on her hand and foot.  I hope she recovers quickly because the house is a little chaotic without her help.

But most of you (read: none of you) care about my mom, so whatever.

For those of you who are competing against me on the last post wins site: Good luck! (that money is mine!)

Take your seats children…

Tomorrow school begins again for the Elementary/Middle/High school kids. My sister is all ready to go, all her things packed and her clothes picked out.

But reading about my sister going back to school isn’t interesting, is it? Well, here are some links I’ve gathered that might interest you, if even for a moment.

A picture of the earth from space. Thanks to the lovely people at NASA.

An article discussing how more feminine looking men are seen more likely to be faithful. Makes me happy because I like pretty boys.

A study suggesting that IQ may be linked with virginity. Personally, it makes sense to me. Smarter people seem (to me) to spend time focusing in school and getting a good job and worrying about relationships later. While ‘average’ people are more concerned about getting laid than passing that test.

My life as a hot woman. An article by a man who tried to help his attractive babysitter get a date by online dating. He set up her profile and helped her go through all the emails from interested men - giving him a chance to see what it feels like to be a hot girl (and fending off all the questionable guys).

The worst city names in the world. I would hate having to try and pronounce number 3 (I would hate even more having to learn to spell it).

[Added] Beautiful people earn 12% more than ugly Bettys. Looks aren’t everything, but they sure do help.

And there you have it, some links to check out while you’re bored and can’t sleep.

Reconnected

For the past four days I was staying with a friend, which is why no one got a response from me sooner. So for all of you who have PMed/emailed/commented - I’m back!
A majority of the time not much is going on, but as soon as I leave the computer a million things happen and I feel so out of the loop.

thelastpostwins.com is back online. They had server problems but now they’re back and ready to start paying again. Easy easy way to make money.

DoshTalk bloggers forum will now start paying its members to post on the forum. Another easy way to make money and connect with other bloggers. Though, the forum is small right now, it has the potential to grow.

I’ve been home for a couple hours but I still feel like things happened that I don’t know about. So, if something awesome/interesting happened while I was gone, comment and let me know about it.

I’ll probably spend the rest of the day catching up.

Link Love #1

I’ve decided I would give out some link love - not only for bloggers, but for other sites I enjoy as well.

Jamaipanese - The third person to be added to my blogroll. Has many interesting posts and is a fellow lover of Japan.

Maurizio - The top commenter last month and my ‘competitor’ on thelastpostwins.com site. He managed to beat me once XD

Komirad - Commented several times, and I even ran into Komi on DigitalPoint forums~

Sapheyerblu - She awarded me my lovely Rockin Girl Blogger badge, which you can find on my ‘about me’ page.

Dreamhost Blog - The blog for my lovely webhost. The entries are usually witty and interesting, even if I don’t always know what they’re talking about.

John Chow - teaches you ways to make money online, while rolling in some big bucks himself.

Digital Point Forums - For webmasters near and far. I frequent this forum a lot, usually in the General Chat section, however I’ve always been more of a lurker than a poster so I may not post very often. (I’m Tokio if you’re a member there)

L’Arc~en~Ciel - My favorite favorite band (japanese).

Hydeist - Official website for Hyde, who is the vocalist for L’Arc~en~Ciel and has his own solo career.  I love this man so much I would sell my internal organs just to know him (as a friend/work for him/something). I will be part of his fanclub one day.

So there you have it! There’s some free link love. Yayyy free links~

Now you all should go and show appreciation to sites you love by creating your own Link Love List.
