I read an article over at Mainichi news, and couldn’t help cringing.
Yeah, guys like young girls, but Japan seems to be so open to ogling and taking interest in underage girls. I really like Japan, but this is one of the few things about Japan that I really hate.
Leering at Lolitas legal, but nonetheless loathsome
Although new and tougher laws cracking down on kiddy porn have been put into force, legal aspects of this business proliferate. These include publications such as deluxe coffee table books containing photo collections of young females in a variety of suggestive poses, and DVDs showing them in motion — clad in dresses or bathing suits, of course, but still satisfyingly suggestive to aficionados of “U-15,” i.e., under 15 years old, as pubescent females are referred to by some.
So the guys can’t get good ol’ kiddy porn, but they can get pretty close to it. It’s rather disgusting.
And it seems that so many of these men, especially in Japan, have no shame for their interest in these young girls.
I mean, after all, it’s completely normal for a 40 year old man to be lusting after a 12 year old, right? Excuse me while I gag.
And the girls and their mothers just tolerate it as part of showbiz.
The mother of a 10-year-old girl modeling at the day’s event was clearly turned off by the experience.
“Many parents see these shooting sessions as a stepping stone to show business and are resigned to having to put up with it. But some of these guys strike me as sleazy. I wouldn’t speak to them.”
I wish someone would go and tell these mothers that they shouldn’t just put up with it. It’s not okay for a 30 year old man to be ogling your 10 year old daughter.
They don’t care about your daughters career, they care about jacking off in the bathroom while staring at suggestive photos.
Hell, I’m sure if they could get away with it, they just might jump in bed with your girl. Excuse me while I gag again.
If everyone just ‘tolerates’ it then the problem is not going to go away, and the girls will just keep getting younger and younger.
Really, I think Japan needs one huge counseling session.
And it doesn’t help that the O-15s (Over-15s) indulge these 40 year-old men by dressing up as schoolgirls, either. While these men maybe distracted by these U-15s lookalikes for a while, who’s to say they won’t be interested in seeing if the real thing is anything like it?
Yeah, some of the girls are a bit responsible for the situation as well.
I actually heard that high school girls in Japan have gotten used to older men lusting after them - so they use the men for the money.
Which is pushing the men to go after younger,s till innocent girls.
But still, the older men should know better. Tsk tsk.

I think it’s rather a difference in culture that they have no shame for it. You can’t really say people are wrong for doing what they do because your culture says it’s wrong. We must see why is it considered wrong in the first place.
I believe most western cultures consider it wrong because of the “child abuse” issues that came up in USA around the 1970s. Some of the assumptions made by some people are questionable, but I won’t say that they are wrong.
In the culture around my area, it is ok for close family to be naked when there is no outsiders around, this would be very likely frowned upon by alien cultures, but it is perfectly alright here, but only recently has my country legalized oral and anal sex which doesn’t seem to have any problem in USA. There are many examples of such differences, such as gay rights, and I think we shouldn’t just assume things are wrong because we are brought up to believe so.
These are just some things for readers to think about, do not take it too seriously if you don’t want to.

Yes, that is true, there is a difference in cultures.
Here, we do see this as wrong while other cultures may not. I know there are still cultures where girls go off and get married 16.
And in those cultures it doesn’t bother me so much because it’s a way of life. It’s just a normal everyday thing.
In Japan, however, I’m fairly sure that kiddy porn is illegal. Despite that, sexual interest in underage girls seems a little common.
Also, the mothers of the girls weren’t comfortable with all the leering either, and I’m not sure how the girls themselves felt about it.
And personally, I don’t think the girls should have to feel uncomfortable so that some guys can get some kind of sexual gratification.
If it was a normal thing in their culture, then it wouldn’t be a big deal since the girls would be used to it. But in this case, it’s close to illegal.
But yeah, there are differences in cultures, which I respect.
